Recipe for Desire is the story of Devon Harris and Marie Charles. We all remember Devon Harris, the sexy chief and ex boyfriend of Kandice from Cheris Hodges other books. Marie Charles is a party girl that gets herself into trouble and she has to do community service at a Womens home under the direction of Devon. This is an excellent story that is very well writen that will keep you turning the pages and not able to put it down. Hodges is one of my all time favorite authors and she has yet to let me down with any of her work. If you love a great love story with a little bit of drama thrown in, and a couple of nosey, but loving, friends. This is the book for you. If you have not read any of the other books in this series, I strongly suggest that you do. Starting with my personal favorite couple, Maurice and Kenya in “Let’s Get it On”! Happy Reading! :-)

Cheris Hodges, in Recipe for Desire, delivers a fun and romantic story of a spoiled, young woman with a soft side. Marie Charles was hot and mad. How dare her fiancé, William, walk into the event she was hosting, for the Charlotte Bobcats, with his ex-wife. After all, she is the daughter of the infamous civil rights attorney Richard Charles III. She was known for her impeccable fashion sense and as Charlotte’s party girl. Marie was not about to let William get away with embarrassing her. But, she had to admit she was too drunk and agreed to leave the party. She just did not intend on her assistant crashing her brand new Jaguar XK, being arrested for DUI and being sentenced to community service at a shelter.

Devin Harris dreamed of returning to Paris as a master chef. For now he was completely satisfied working as chef at Hometown Delights, his successful Food Network show, Dining with Devin, and volunteering at My Sister’s Place. When he was asked to supervise Marie, he immediately knew two things – first, watching Marie walk into his kitchen in a pair of four inch heels, he knew there was going to be trouble and second, Devin could not deny the burning he felt in his stomach every time he was close to her. Was there more to this party girl than she wanted to admit? Devin was ready to find out.

Recipe for Desire has a touch of drama, humor and lots of sensual tension to keep readers turning page after page. Hodges shows that you really cannot judge a person based on circumstances, status, wealth or lifestyle. This was the first novel that I have read by Hodges and I would recommend it to romance readers.

I really love Cheris Hodges’ book “Recipe for Desire.” Marie Charles, Charlotte’s “It” Party Girl was ordered to do community service at My Sister’s Keeper, a homeless shelter for women. Devon Harris, a celebrity chef, volunteers at the homeless shelter as a culinary instructor and is appointed Marie’s supervisor.

It was love at first sight for Marie and Devon. They were truly a perfect pairing. Marie found her match in Devon, a no-nonsense guy who was not going to let her get her way. It was nice to see Marie growth and transformation throughout the storyline and the lessons she learned about not being the center of attention.

A must purchase from a great author. You will not be disappointed with this book or the outcome. It is also nice to see the Crawfords, Billups and Goings couples again.
